Lew Smith transacted business at the county seat on Tuesday.

 

Leonard Dorst is the proud possessor of a handsome new top buggy since last Saturday.

 

Geo. Howard purchased a new Krit automobile of his brother Len last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chester Winters of Ladysmith are visiting relatives at Shortville since Sunday.

 

Mrs. L.G. Morris and children, with Mr. and Mrs. N.E. Lee, spent Tuesday at Marshfield.

 

Mrs. Will Kurth will entertain the Ladies Aid of Rev. Reiff’s parish next Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Roehl and daughter came down from Loyal Saturday and made an over Sunday visit at the W.J. Thayer home.

 

Mrs. Sholtz of Veefkind was a guest at the Webb Winn home Saturday.

 

Miss Elvera Carstenson returned to Neillsville Saturday.

 

Mrs. John Martin and children are here from Wausau visiting at the John Hiles home.

 

Robert Garbisch spent Sunday morning with Dan Gluch of Marshfield.

 

Mrs. Wm. Bartz is making daily trips to Marshfield for medical treatment since last Saturday.

 

Mrs. George Walls and little daughter returned from their visit at Hartland Saturday.

 

Mrs. John Leqka and daughter Hermia of Richland Center are visiting at Henry Yankee’s since Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. O. Atkin of Withee motored down and spent Sunday at Mike Dorst’s.

 

Miss Emma Lieber, after a few months stay with Mrs. Herman Scharf, went home to Marshfield on Saturday.

 

Harry Albright of Neillsville spent Monday here at the Dr. Ross home.

 

Mrs. Frank Seitz and children of Hein are visiting at Waukesha since Saturday.

 

Mrs. S. Winn and Mrs. Guy Winn spent Monday with friends at Neillsville.

 

Elliot Martin of Stevens Point turned pianos here the first of the week.

 

Geo. Beaver had lightning rods put on his building last week.  Aug. Lautenbach did the work.

 

Mrs. Jos. Marsh of Marshfield spent several days of last week here with Mrs. Melvina Wright and Mrs. Mary Marsh.

 

Dan Gluch Jr. was taken to the Marshfield hospital last Friday evening.  He is suffering with carbuncles.

 

Mrs. Ann Nichols, after a winter sojourn here among old friends, went home to Black River Falls on Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Porath and daughter Norma went to Beloit Saturday for a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Handt.

 

The Misses Gertrude Martina nd Vera Shierholtz of Lynn, with Miss Mary Grasser and Miss Hulda Schoengarth, spent Saturday at Neillsville.

 

Henry Heisler came up from Grand Rapids Saturday and remained until Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Otis Beardsley and daughter Sylvia were over Sunday guests of relatives at Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Meyer of Markesan visited at Nick Wiernazki’s from Friday until Tuesday.

 

Miss Beatrice Stockwell of Spooner is here for a couple of weeks to visit at ye Editor’s.  Mrs. Baer met her at Merrillan Monday night.

 

Frank Wood is visiting his old friend Kenneth Creigo at Hayward since last week.

 

Geo. Beaver and family drove to Loyal Sunday and spent the day at the parental home celebrating his mother’s birthday.

 

Mrs. John Greise and son, Mrs. Wm. Zahn and children, and Miss Evelyn Meilahn, all of Ripon, spent most of last week here, guests at Fred Zille’s.

 

Mrs. Baer and her niece, Bernice Stockwell autoed to Neillsville Tuesday and visited the former’s mother, Mrs. C.S. Stockwell.

 

John Lastofka, W.D. Rose and Al Nonhof joined the ranks of the Ford touring car owners and drivers last week.

 

Mrs. B.F. Frazier of Loyal is visiting between the W.J. Thayer and Geo. Ure homes since last week.

 

Mrs. P.J. Kemmeter returned home from her trip to Canada early this week.  Her brother Will Churchill of Milwaukee accompanied her here for a short visit.

 

Jack Lovell is visiting his son Dell and family in Rice Lake since Tuesday and enjoying the sport afforded by good fishing.

 

Mrs. G.E. Amidon and Mrs. L.L. Ayers spent Tuesday at Neillsville.

 

Will Opelt of DeKalb, Ill. came up last week and remained until Tuesday visiting his brother Max in Lynn.

 

Mrs. Rice Davis, who has been indisposed for weeks past, went to Madison Tuesday and entered the Sanitarium there for an indefinite stay in search of health.

 

Hon. S.M. Marsh and family, with B. Dangers and granddaughter Miss Eppling, autoed over and attended the children’s picnic in Rev. Reiff’s parish Sunday.  Mrs. Melvina Wright went home with them that evening for a short visit.

 

A farewell party for Elmer H. Knickle’s parents at Veefkind Saturday evening gave Elmer and the family, who autoed over, a delightful evening among relatives and old friends.
