Stafford, Mabel Louella (28 February 1891 - 15 November 1963)

 

Mrs. I. W. Stafford died early November 15 at her home in Greenwood. She had been in failing health for the last two years following a stroke.

 

Mrs. Stafford, nee Mabel Louella Berg, was born February 28, 1891, to Mr. and Mrs. Peter O. Berg. When she was a small child, she moved to Drummond with her parents. She attended school in Drummond and Superior. She received a teaching certificate from the Superior Normal and taught in northern Wisconsin for three years.

 

She was married June 8, 1911, to Ira William Stafford in Drummond. After their marriage they lived in Serona until they moved to Mott, N. D., in 1916. In 1921 they came to Greenwood and she had resided here since.

 

Mrs. Stafford was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 137, of Greenwood, and attended Grace Methodist Church.

 

Surviving are her husband; a son, Willard Ira Stafford of Milwaukee; a grandson, Ronald Stafford of West Allis; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Ruth) McKluskey of Minneapolis; two brothers, Clarence Berg, of Lodi Calif., and Leonard Berg of St. Petersburg, Fla.

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Hill Funeral Home, with the Rev. Orval Egbert, pastor of the Immanuel and Zion United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
