Fritz, Sharon #2 (5 JUL 1961)

The choir of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Owen sang for the marriage ceremony of Miss Sharon Lee Fritz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elton J. Fritz, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), when she became the bride of Gerhard P. Weiler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Weiler, route 2, Colby, Saturday morning, July 5, 1961, at 9:30 o’clock.

The pastor, the Rev. Hubert L. Crubel, officiated at the exchange of vows and nuptial High Mass, which were held in the church, which was decorated for the occasion with bouquets of delphiniums and garden flowers.

When the bride entered the church with her father she was wearing a bridal gown and a veil of imported French illusion held in place by a headpiece of crystals and pearls.  Her cascade bouquet was comprised of red roses, white chrysanthemums and stephanotis, to which were attached streamers tied with red roses.

Preceding the bride down the aisle were her aides, Mrs. Bernard Eckert, Rhinelander, the matron of honor, and Miss Laurie Fritz, Owen, and Miss Veronica Weiler, Colby, the bridesmaids.

They selected identically styled dresses of blue chiffon made with draped bodices and full skirts, also matching veiled hats.  Each was provided with a colonial bouquet of blue chrysanthemums and white carnations.

Bernard Eckert, Rhinelander, was best man; Jerome and Kenneth Weiler, both of route 2, Colby, were the groomsmen; and Glen Weiler and Larry Fritz ushered.

Immediately following the church ceremony, wedding guests were greeted at a reception held in the church parlors.  That evening there was a wedding dance at Unity Hall.

Mrs. Weiler is a 1961 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, her husband being graduated in 1957 from Colby High School.  He is employed at American Motors, Kenosha, where he and his bride will reside.  At present they are on a honeymoon to an undisclosed destination.
