Krug, Jane E. (16 SEP 1961)

Gladioli and dahlias were arranged on the altar of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee for the wedding of Miss Jane Ethel Krug, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Krug, route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Gordon George Mathews, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mathews, route 1, Medford, which was performed Saturday afternoon, Sept. 16, 1961, at 1:30 o’clock by the pastor, the Rev. Howard A. Timmermann.  Mrs. Herman Rabska provided nuptial music.

The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a floor length full skirted bridal frock.  The skirt has net and lace ruffles over satin, the V-neckline of which was accented with sequins.  Attached to a crown covered with mock pearls and sequins was the fingertip veil.  Red tea roses and white carnations comprised the bridal bouquet.

Mrs. Robert Wisniewski, Withee, was the matron of honor, and Miss Janet Levin, Withee, and Miss Sylvia Mathews, Medford, were bridesmaids.

They wore street length sleeveless royal blue chiffon frocks which featured shirred midriffs and lace jackets.  Completing their ensembles were braid crowns with crystal like beads and blue nylon blush veiling.  Satin bows were affixed to their blue and white carnations.

Also in the bridal party were Adele Neitzel as flower girl and Mike Krug as ring bearer.  The best man was Robert Wisniewski, Withee, with Lynn Mathews, Medford, and Jerry Krug, Owen, as the groomsmen.  David Krug and Robert Mathews performed ushering duties.

The wedding reception was held at the bride’s parents’ home and the Dorchester Memorial Hall was the setting for the wedding dance that evening.

The new Mrs. Mathews attended Owen-Withee High School and her husband was graduated in 1956 from Medford High School.  The newlyweds will reside in Little Black, Mr. Mathews being a farmer.
