Hardrath, Kay (18 DEC 1961)

 

Kay Hardrath, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alden Hardrath, and Arvid Schroeder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elger Schroeder of route 1, Eau Claire, were united in marriage at Rexburg, Idaho, Dec. 18, 1961.

 

A candlelight ceremony with Rev. Ralph Claybaugh officiating was held at the congregational Church in Owen, Dec. 23.

 

The bride approached the altar on the arm of her father in a floor length gown of imported Chantilly lace and nylon tulle.  The fitted bodice featured a Sabrina neckline with a Queen Anne collar and long tapered sleeves.  The bouffant skirt was styled with a cascade of ruffles.  Her crown of graduated pearls and crystal held her fingertip illusion veil.  She carried a cascade bouquet of feather mums centered with a white Bible.

 

Maid of honor was Karen Alexander, and bridesmaids were Sally Hardrath and Ginger Fritz of Owen.  They wore floor length gowns of peacock blue peare de soie styled with fitted cummerbunds and long floating sashes.  Matching pipe stem crowns held their blusher veils.  The bridesmaids carried star shaped bouquets of white and blue mums.

 

Attending the groom were Gayle Schroeder of Eau Claire, brother of the groom as best man, and Joel Schmidt of Thorp and Douglas Hardrath of Owen as groomsmen.  Ushers were Gordon Alexander of Owen and Jim Riley of Eau Claire.

 

The bride’s mother wore a grey-glue crepe dress with navy blue accessories and a corsage of blue and white mums.  The groom’s mother wore a beige lace dress with brown accessories and corsage of yellow mums.

 

During the ceremony "The Wedding Prayer" was sung by Mrs. Orpha Marshal, accompanied by Miss Louis Hansen at the organ.

 

A reception was held in the church followed by a dance at the Legion Hall in Owen.

 

The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee Sr. High School and is mow employed at Sterling pulp and Paper Co. in Eau Claire.  The groom graduated from Eau Claire High School and is employed at Whites in Eau Claire.

 

The newlyweds reside in Eau Claire.
