Zupancic, Mary (21 February 1889 - 4 May 1964)

 

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from Mother of God Catholic Church in Waukegan, Ill., for Mrs. John Zupancic, 75, of Greenwood. The Rev. Matt Hiti will officiate, and burial will be made in Ascension Cemetery at Waukegan.

 

The body was taken to Waukegan Wednesday morning from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood.

 

A longtime resident of the Willard-Greenwood area, Mrs. Zupancic died Monday at 8 a.m. in a Marshfield hospital, to which she had been admitted the day before.  She had been in failing health for some time.

 

The former Mary Kranz, she was born February 21, 1889, in Yugoslavia. After her marriage 53 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Zupancic moved to the Willard area from Waukegan and farmed on the present Frank Lamovec farm.  They returned for a brief time to Waukegan, and came back to settle in Greenwood eight years ago.

 

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church at Greenwood, and of its St. Ann’s Society.

 

Surviving are: her husband; a foster daughter, Mrs. Anna Hoknik of Waukegan; a brother, Anton Kranz of Detroit, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Ruzick of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Elizabeth Zork of Waukegan.
