Litten, George #4 (24 OCT 1932 - 27 FEB 1962)

The sudden and unexpected death of George Allen Litten on Feb. 27, 1962 at his home in the Town of Hixon (Clark Co., Wis.) saddened members of his family and a host of friends.

The exact cause of his death is unknown but members of his family said that he had been treated for the past several weeks for a nervous condition.  He was 29 years, 4 months and 3 days of age, being born Oct. 24, 1932 in the Town of Beaver, Clark Co.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon, March 3, from the owen Gospel Tabernacle.  Rev. Charles Hofflander read the final rites with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Donald Piquet, Roger Pomputis, Orlando Olson, Richard Cox, Harold Stowe and Henry Steiner.

The deceased made his home on a farm in the Town of Beaver until 1957, when the family moved to their present home in the Town of Hixon.  In addition to his farming he was employed for several years at Streckert’s wood making plant at Abbotsford.

He was united in marriage to Esther Bloom on Aug. 10, 1957, in a ceremony performed in Owen.  His death is mourned by his wife, three sons, Jeffrey, Jerome and James, one daughter, Judy, and three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Velma) Prock, Loves Park, Ill.; Mrs. George (Darlene) Pomputis, Withee, and Mrs. Dave (Veryl) Lucas, Milwaukee.
