Schnabel, Sharon Ilene (Marriage - 6 June 1964)

The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated at a marriage 2 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, where matrimonial vows were exchanged by Sharon Ilene Schnabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Schnabel of Rt. 1 Neillsville, and Kenneth William Kirn of Camp Roberts, Wis., son of Martin Kirn of Willard and Mrs. Jennie Betz of Chippewa Falls.

The pews of the church were decked with white lace bows with red roses in the middle. A bouquet of white carnations was placed on either side of the altar, with two bouquets of mixed garden flowers in front of it.

The bride was attired in a floor length gown of nylon lace over taffeta, with a full bouffant skirt fashioned with ruffles in the back. The Basque bodice was styled with a nylon crinoline scalloped square neckline with sequin trim. Pleated net detailed the long sleeves.  A full bouffant shoulder-length veil was secured by a sequin jeweled crown. She carried a bouquet of white and red roses, highlighted by several butterflies.

Miss Diane Schnabel was her sister’s maid-of-honor.  Bridesmaids were Doreen Fenske of Chili and Barbara Genteman of Marshfield.  Junior Bridesmaid was Kathy Schnabel of Aberdeen, S. D.  The attendants wore street-length dresses of light blue in a sheath style.  A full overskirt accented the dresses. Their bouquets were white and pink carnations centered with a red rose.

Little Delilah Seelow, miniature bride, wore a dress identical to that of the bride and carried a smaller bouquet.  Jeffrey Snyder of Milwaukee carried rings on a white satin pillow.

Bill Lucas of Willard was bestman.  Groomsmen were Franklin Boh, Robert Schmidt and Donald Schnabel was junior groomsman.  Donald Kirn and Frederick Seelow ushered.

Kendall Smith sang, "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied at the organ by Victor Lehman.

One hundred eighty guests attended a reception in St. John’s Lutheran School.

The new Mrs. Kirn is a 1963 graduate of Neillsville High School and has been employed in Milwaukee.  Mr. Kirn, a 1962 graduate of Greenwood High School, is a member of the army stationed at Camp Roberts.  On their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Kirn will live in New Richmond.

Guests from away attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Dave Koshak of Waukegan, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kirn of Willard; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schnabel of Aberdeen, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Markham of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Terry Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Seelow, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Harrington, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. William Seelow of Cudahy; Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn Schnabel of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schnabel of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. John Betz of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Volz of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Seelow of Granton; and from Willard were: Mrs. John Plautz, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Plautz, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kirn, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kirn, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Herrick.
