Mr. and Mrs. John Horin and Miss Pat Yanis of Chicago were recent guests at the John Verschay home in Willard. Giles and Marc Horin of Chicago are spending the summer there.

 

Recent visitors at the Calvin Franz home were Mrs. Frieda Meyer of Tacoma, Wash., and William Goeke, and Mrs. Alma Busch.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller spend a day recently in Stanley at the Ingwald Ondel home.

 

The Canasta Club met July 8 at the Harry Liebzeit home, with Mrs. Martha Meinholdt as hostess.

 

The Rev. and Mrs. Orval Egbert and son, Edwin, accompanied by her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Harshman of Abilene, Kans., left on a vacation trip. They plan to tour central and western Canada and expect to return by July 21.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Richardson received word Friday informing them of the birth of their fifth great-grandchild, Parmare Irene, to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Magee of Zion, Ill.

 

Friday dinner guests at the Godfrey Dyre home were the Rev. and Mrs. Barent Johnson and daughter, Kathy of New Jersey, and Mrs. Harold Hoffman of DeForest.

 

Harland Carl and son, Gregory, of Neenah visited Saturday and Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Ida Carl. Saturday evening he attended his class reunion. Other recent visitors at the Carl home were her nephew, Victor Carl, and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wagner of Milwaukee, who were enroute to Birchwood.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nickols and daughter, Penny, of Rockford, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Duff of Peoria, Ill., were Tuesday guests of Mrs. Henry Keiner.  Wednesday guests there were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Obernberger of Chicago, Ill., and Joan and Mary Obernberger of Stratford.

 

Victor Wagner attended a summer conference at the University of Wisconsin last week.
