Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Laabs celebrated their silver wedding anniversary at the Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday evening, June 4, 1962, at 8:00 o’clock p.m.
The program, at which Rev. Roger Tellock was master of ceremonies, consisted of a song by the audience, "Beautiful Savior." A short talk by Rev. W.L. Anderson of Highland, who married the couple. A vocal solo, "Oh Perfect Love," by Russell Wrolstad of Rosholt, who sang at their wedding in 1937. A talk by Rev. G.E. Borreson of Elk Mound, who baptized their children. Vocal solo by Norman Erickson of Eau Claire, who was sponsor for Denny Laabs. Talk by Rev. O.K. Odland of DeForest, a former pastor here. Song, "Someone Cared," by the choir.
Greetings were read from Rev. Max Wilhelm of Osseo and Rev. Donald Olson, a Navy Chaplain, former pastors, and a talk by Rev. R. Tellock. Song, "Dear Lord the Savior of Mankind," by choir. Coronet and organ duet, "Lead on O King Eternal," by Dennis and Susan Laabs. Song by audience, "O Happy Home."
Over 250 attended a reception in the parish hall following the program. The couple received many beautiful gifts and well wishes.
