Maier, Theresia (07 DEC 1869-25 MAR 1958)

Mrs. Theresia Maier passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Pribnow at Loyal, on March 25, 1958, at the age of 88 years, after a lingering illness. She had made her home with her daughter for the past eight and one-half years.

Theresia Froehlich was born Dec. 7, 1869, at Durmersheim, Baden Baden, Germany, coming to The United States in 1890, and was married to Ludwig Maier at Pigeon, Mich., in 1891, where they resided until 1903 when they moved to a farm two and one-half miles southeast of Stanley, Wis. Mr. Maier passed away in 1905.

Mrs. Maier resided on the farm with her children until 1925, when she sold her farm and moved to Detroit, Mich., where she was Matron of a Boy’s Home for the school system of the City of Detroit until 1944 when she returned to Stanley to make her home, where she resided until 1949 when she sold her home and went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Pribnow.

Mrs. Maier is survived by five sons and one daughter, Walter E., Theodore U., Alwin A., of Detroit, Arthur L. of Norfolk, Nebraska, Erich B. of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Pribnow of Loyal, also eight grandchildren, Wavaglee Miller of Unity, Earl B. Maier of Norfolk, Eugene D. Maier of Detroit, Fauneil Buettow of Fremont, Neb., Herbert D. Maier of Sheboygan, John Pribnow lll of Loyal, Gerald B. Maier of New York City and Alan Maier of Detroit, together with ten great-grandchildren, Christine and Merry Miller, Debbie, Denise and John Pribnow, Steven and Wendy Lou Buettow and Donna, Gregory, and Gordon Maier.

Mrs. Maier was a member of the Epiphany Lutheran Church at Stanley from which the funeral services were held on March 28, at 2 p.m., with Rev. R.W. Olson officiating, with burial at the Oakland Cemetery in Stanley. Her grandsons acted as pallbearers; Eugene, Herbert and Alan Maier, John Pribnow lll, and husbands of her granddaughters, George Miller and Duane Buettow.

Out of town relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Maier and son, Alan, Mr. and Mrs. T. U. Maier, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Maier and Eugene Maier all of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Maier of Norfolk, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Maier of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Maier of Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. George Miller and daughters, Christine and Merry of Unity. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Buettow and children, Steven and Wendy Lou of Fremont, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. John Pribnow ll, and Mr. and Mrs. John Pribnow lll and son John IV all of Loyal.

Out of town friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Broeking of Merrill; Fred Hutton and Mr. and  Mrs. Irvin Eggebrecht of Colby; Mrs. Ed Feit, Unity; Charles Emling of Lake Forest, Ill.; LaVern Emling, Mrs. Elmer Sterr, Mrs. Blanche McGonigal, Mrs. Gerhardt Kehrberg, Mrs. G. W. Nelson, Mrs. Maynard Erickson, Mrs. Perry Volk, Mrs. William Trindal, all of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Mills of Chippewa Falls.
