Burr, Dolores Dorothy (Marriage - 5 September 1964)

Baskets of white gladioli graced the altar of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for the nuptial mass Saturday morning uniting in marriage Miss Dolores Dorothy Burr of Marshfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Burr of Neillsville, and Donald Dean Dahlke of Marshfield, son of Robert Dahlke of Wonewoc. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Bernard T. Kelly.

Approximately 100 guests witnessed as Mr. Burr gave his daughter in marriage. For her wedding the bride chose a floor length white satin gown, fashioned with a fitted bodice and enhanced with a round neckline and long sleeves ending at wrist points.  Accenting the skirt was a detachable train of white satin net, with a small bow in the front of the softly-pleated skirt. A Mantilla veil, handmade in France, draped over the shoulder in front and fell to a length that covered half of her train. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and stephanotis.

Mrs. Robert Yakish of Bloomer, a twin sister, was her matron-of-honor.  Mr. Yakish attended as bestman. Ushers were Kenneth Burr of Neillsville and Donald Burr of Wauwatosa, brothers of the bride.

"O Perfect Love" and "Ave Maria" were sung by miss Donna Erpenbach of Marshfield, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Glenn Short.

Following the ceremony a reception and wedding dinner for 100 guests was held in the church parlors.

The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School and St. Joseph’s school of nursing in Marshfield. She worked for a year in an Eau Claire hospital, and for the last two years has been at the Marshfield hospital. Mr. Dahlke, a graduate of Wonewoc High School, attended La Crosse State University for two years and is a 1964 graduate of the school of nursing in Marshfield.  He is now enrolled in the school of anesthesia in St. Cloud, Minn., where they will reside at 1035 28th Ave. North, on their return from a wedding trip to Minnesota.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were: Robert and Durell Dahlke of Wonewoc; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Radke and Dick Dahlke of Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yakish of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burr of Wauwatosa; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Burr of Richfield, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Freund of Bakerville; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burr, Sr., of Hewitt; Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Burr, Mr. and Mrs. Al Burr, Mr. and Mrs. Earle Burr, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Jirschele, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burr, Jr., all of Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. George Schroeder of Hewitt.
