Lipke, Henry George (20 November 1888 - 8 October 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Henry G. Lipke, 76, of Verona, a former Neillsville resident, who died October 8.  The Rev. W. C. Koehler of the United Church of Christ officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Henry George Lipke was born November 20, 1888, in Neillsville, the son of the late Carl and Anna (Gaubber) Lipke.  He attended Clark County schools and was engaged in farming for many years.  He also sold real estate for a number of years.  For the last 25 years he resided in the Madison area.  At the time of his death he was a resident of the Verona nursing home.  His marriage to the former Flossie White took place in Neillsville in 1914. She died in 1953.

 

Mr. Lipke is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Armand (Myrtle) Miller of Withee, Mrs. Mark (Anne) Keller of Beloit, Mrs. Maurice (Rosalyn) May of Milwaukee, Mrs. Rudy (Marcella) Opelt of Neillsville, and Mrs. J. (Gladys) DeKline of Cleveland, O.  Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Lena Schnabel and Mrs. Emma Bruss of Neillsville, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Leon, Clarence, Verlyn, Russell, Herbert and Delbert Schnabel.

 

Mrs. W. C. Koehler, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott, sang, "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer Still Nearer."

 

People from out of town attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Mark Keller, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Skirben and son of Rockton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. David Weber of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Maurice May and Bradley of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schnabel of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Armand Miller and family of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn Schnabel of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Swarthout of Spencer; and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schnabel of Granton.
