Pleasant Ridge (22 October 1964)

 

The Pleasant Ridge Homemaker club made their annual tour last week Wednesday, going this year to the Sand Hill Game Farm near Babcock. The 10 members making the trip were: Mrs. Calvin Gerhardt, Mrs. Harold Huckstead, Mrs. George Kuehn, Mrs. Leona Vine, Mrs. C. A. Paulson, Mrs. Dale Short, Genevieve Hantke, Mrs. Frieda Vine, Mrs. Faith Vine and Mrs. Glenn Short, who drove.  Enroute home the group had supper in Wisconsin Rapids.

 

Sunday dinner guests at the Theamore Vine home were Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kissinger of Chili, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Vine.

 

Mrs. Elery Moberg of Greenwood, a former Pleasant Ridge resident, was a dinner guest Saturday at the Nina Blackman home. Saturday callers were Mrs. Irma (Neverman) Barnam of Weyauwega, and Mrs. Mae (Shaw) Beckman of Merrillan.

 

The Pleasant Ridge Homemaker club met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ed Lezotte.  The project, "Fixing things," was conducted by Mrs. C. A. Paulson.

 

Shirley Magnuson of Minneapolis spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Alfred Magnuson.  Saturday they drove to Green Bay for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Magnuson, formerly of Merrillan, who recently moved there to be near their son and his family.

 

Mrs. Arnold Drescher was honored Friday evening at a surprise birthday party at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Silkey, in Marshfield. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Drescher, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Drescher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Drescher and family, an Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Watenpuhl and family, all of the Neillsville area; and Mrs. Drescher’s sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lautenbach of Granton.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Silkey of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Drescher and the Arvid Watenpuhl family were Sunday dinner guests at the Eugene Thiede home in Granton.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dahlke and family of Milwaukee were weekend guests at the Carl Eisentraut home. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Eisentraut  and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Erickson and family of the Town of York, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Erickson and two granddaughters of Eau Claire, were dinner guests at the Elmer Erickson home in York.

 

Glenn Short, accompanied by Lloyd Meyer and Bud Holzhausen of Neillsville, flew to Horicon Marsh Monday for a day of goose hunting.  Each returned with a goose.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones of Hartland spent the weekend with their uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Short, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schmidt of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Syth of Greenwood.
