Northern Clark County (29 October 1964)

 

Ronnie Buss of Owen got a deer October 15 while bow and arrow hunting near Amasa, Mich.  Others in the party were his father, Les Buss, and jack Warns.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Leffel of Pickerel, and Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Lulloff of Milwaukee were recent weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krueger of Curtiss.

 

The village hall in Curtiss was the scene of a pre-nuptial shower honoring Diane Klemetson and Allen Dunow. They plan to be married November 10.

 

Mrs. John Marking has returned to Owen from Prairie du Chien, where she spent two weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Rueben Powers and family. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Orland Woodbeck of Owen have returned after spending two weeks in South Gate and Anaheim, Cal.  They were accompanied on the trip by an 80-year-old uncle, Louis Pape of Arcadia. The trip was made by plane.

 

Edna Peterson of Owen suffered a stroke October 16 and was taken to Marshfield for medical treatment.

 

David Segerstrom of Withee joined a group of teachers from New Lisbon for a weekend of hunting near Perkinstown.

 

Pvt. Arthur Klabon is spending a 20-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Klabon of Withee.  He recently completed basic training at Dan Diego, Cal.

 

Lori Ann, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur LePage of Withee, was baptized in Holy Rosary Church in Withee by the Rev. Fr. Crubel.  Lori’s sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. James Maurina.

 

Mrs. Elizabeth Weber, Cletus Weber, Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Weber of Dorchester and Mrs. Dan  Fagan of Withee, attended the wedding of their grandson and nephew, Jerry Weber of Colby, October 17 in Turtle Lake. They went from there to Moore, Minn., for a visit with Elizabeth Weber’s sister.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Lau have returned to Dorchester from a two-week wedding trip into eastern states.

 

Twenty-three children received their first communion Sunday in St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. The Rev. Gerald F. Schuh officiated at an 8:15 communion mass.

 

Dean Jensen of Dorchester, who is attending Taylor County Teachers College, was one of three students who were counselors for a group of fifth graders from Wausau Grant School, when they held an outing two days recently at Rib Mountain camp. 

 

Deaths: Rolland E. Barrett, 54; Randall Dean Zager, 3 weeks; (and other names apparently cut-off my copy).
