Zepaltas, John Joseph (17 October 1915 - 30 October 1964)

 

John Joseph Zepaltas, 49, of Greenwood died at his home Friday of a lingering illness.

 

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood.  The Rev. Edward Hartung officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery, with military rites at the graveside by Legion Post No. 238.  He was a veteran of World War II.

 

John Zepaltas was born October 17, 1915, in Chicago.  On January 4, 1941, he married the former Rose Marie Jasurda in Chicago.  They came to Greenwood in 1950 from Berwyn, Ill.  He had been employed by the John Wuethrich Creamery for several years.

 

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Leo (Nancy) Fellenz of Milwaukee, Mary Ann, Donna, Debbie, Diane, and Kathy, all at home; three sons, Corp. John of Santa Ana, Calif., James and Thomas, at home; two granddaughters; his mother, Mrs. Kate Zepaltas and a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Sophie) Duchowicz both of Chicago.

Funeral services for John Joseph Zepaltas, 49, of Greenwood were held Monday, November 3, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  The Rev. Edward Hartung officiated, with Military rites conducted by the Wallis-Hinker Legion Post, No. 238.  Burial was made in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: John, Joe, Gary, Phillip, Frank and Emil Jasurda.

 

Relatives from out of town attending were: Cpl. (USMC) John and Mrs. John Zepaltas, Jr., and daughters, Deborah and Sharon, of Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. Kate Zepaltas, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Duchowicz, Mrs. Caroline Bielah and J. Yackley, all of Chicago, Ill.; Sister M. Bernita O.S.B., Sister M. Rosemary O.S.B., and Br. Cyprian O.S. B. of Lisle, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Jones of Wilmot; Emil Jasurda and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Fellenz of Milwaukee; Mrs. Mary Jasurda, Toni Jasurda and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jasurda, Mrs. John Slovak, Mrs. Andy Matonek, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lingo, Mrs. Louis Foytik, Mrs. Jean Hradnonsky and daughter, all of Phillips; and relatives and friends from the Marshfield, Loyal, Neillsville and Greenwood areas.
