Grades 1 and 2

 

Betty Dignin and Elaine Theis taught the first and second grades while Mrs. Gort was away Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

Grades 3 and 4

 

In language we are having the poem, "Bobolink."  Last week we had the story, "Little Daylight."

 

Pupils who had one hundred in spelling last week were: Carol Moore, Charmaine Shramek, Lillie Castner, Darlene Van Kirk, John Flynn, Ray Moore, and Polly Fletcher. We hope to increase our number of one hundred’s next week."

 

Grades 5 and 6

 

The sixth grade is very busy reviewing for their county test, which will be given Monday April 24.

 

We are all sorry to hear that Ralph Stuve was in the hospital for an appendectomy. All of us hope that he will have a quick recovery and that he will be back with us again soon.

 

High School News

 

Another six weeks period has come to a close, and the honor roll reads as follows:

 

Freshmen - Gordon Hahn 95, Phyllis Hardwick 93¼, Ardith Counsell 93¼, Anthony Boullion 92½, Louise Mayer 92½, Germaine Selz 92½

 

Sophs - Bonnie Pflieger 95, Delores Hardwick 93, Jim Gort 92½

 

Juniors - Francis Scheffer 95, Mary Selz 93¼, Betty Theiler 92½

 

Seniors - Jean Flynn 91¼, Edna Fitzmaurice 91¼, Esther Laffe 90

 

Perfect attendance for this six weeks period is as follows: Louise Mayer, Mahlon Lund, Francis Scheffer, Mary Selz, Edna Fitzmaurice and Joyce Hardwick.

 

Kindergarten class will start Monday, April 24. All children who will be six years old next fall are urged to attend.  Because many will be coming in on the bus, classes will be held in both
