Schleicher, Judith E. #2 (27 APR 1963)

Judith E. Schleicher of Colby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bjorn of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was given in marriage by her father to Kenneth H. Leonhard of Abbotsford Saturday evening, April 27, 1963, at Christ Lutheran Church.  The candlelight ceremony took place at 8:00 o’clock with the Rev. F.H. Sprengler officiating at the double ring exchange of vows.  Miss Dorothy Kieser played the processional and recessional marches and Miss Donna Ehrenreich, accompanied by Miss Jackie Scheel, sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "The Song of Ruth."

The bride wore a ballerina length gown of Chantilly type lace over aqua bridal bouquet taffeta.  The fitted Basque had long sleeves and a scalloped Sabrina neckline enhanced with sequins and pearls.  The controlled skirt was styled with glittering sequins down the front and the softly gathered back was accented by a cabbage rose at the waist.  She wore a headpiece with a blush veil and carried pink roses.

Attending her as maid of honor was a friend, Miss Carol Buss of Owen.  Mrs. Harvey Witt of Curtiss, a sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid.  They were attired alike in street length dresses of aqua organza designed with a fitted bodice, cap sleeves and a bateau neckline, dropping to a V in the back.  The double bouffant skirts were detailed with a small bow at the front.  They wore matching pill box hats and each attendant carried one long stemmed white rose.

Harvey Witt of Curtiss was the best man for his brother-in-law, and Don Oehler of Abbotsford, friend, was the groomsman.  Two other friends, Kenneth Wilhelmi and Kenneth Kalepp, performed the ushering duties.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at the Abbotsford Village Hall with music furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Emil Daellenbach.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Leonhard are making their home in Colby, where the bride is employed as a clerk in the office of Packaging Corp. of America and the groom is employed there in the plant.
