Washburn (14 January 1965)
Mrs. Eugene Simmons entertained the Washburn Homemakers club last week Thursday with a large attendance. Mrs. Adolph Mazourek and Mrs. Ernest Kuhn presented the project, "Prepared Mixes and Master Mix." After the meeting they had a ‘silent auction’ of articles of food or unused articles, which netted about $4.
Mrs. Elmer Kapfer will be hostess at the next meeting, February 11. They will exchange Valentines with secret pals. Visitors will exchange Valentines, also. Mrs. John Reinart and Mrs. Ralph Short will present the project, "Spot Removal and Dry Cleaning Techniques."
Ice fishing seems to have been the sport of several of our men folks the last few weeks. Harry Kissling goes almost every day to Lake Arbutus, where his son, Ernest, has an ice fishing house.
