Radke, Herbert G. (14 March 1899 - 24 February 1965)

 

Herbert G. Radke, 65, of Milwaukee, a former Neillsville resident, died February 24, in St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee of burns suffered the night before in a fire in his apartment.  The Rev. W. C. Koehler of the United Church of Christ officiated at services here Friday. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mr. Radke was born March 24, 1899, in Neillsville.  He attended the Neillsville grade and high schools. During his residence here he was a member of the Neillsville Fire Department.  He served with Company A 3rd Wisconsin Infantry, on the Mexican border.  His parents, the late Adolph and Minnie (Mieske) Radke, operated a hardware store in Neillsville many years ago.  Mr. Radke left Neillsville 20 years ago to make his home in Milwaukee.

 

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Elsie) Dahnert of Neillsville and Mrs. Frieda Toelle of Milwaukee.

 

Pallbearers were: Harry Frantz, Alfred Kleckner, Claude Westphal, Oscar Walk, Paul Bartell and Jess W. Scott.

 

Coming from away for the funeral were Mrs. Frieda Toelle of Milwaukee, Arthur Gouden of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; Miss Dorothy Hellerman of Neenah, and Mrs. Donald Becker of Menasha.
