Harry Oens became very sick Sunday afternoon.  Dr. Housley was called in attendance.  He called for Dr. Ross and Dr. Melbee.  Sunday night he was very sick but it was said that he rested quite a little easier Monday night.

The sudden change Saturday night has made the roads very rough for horses, so much that a number of people rather foot it than ride.

Our blacksmith forgot to drain his gasoline engine and Jack Frost put in his work and burst the water cooler.  Bill is a pretty good mechanic, he will fix that up in a short time.

E.R. Behringer had been visiting around Hartford for several weeks and returned to Marshfield the other day.  Tuesday he came over here to get his horse and buggy that he left here with Herman Roehl to take care of.  He was called up by phone to come back on the train, as Mrs. Behringer has become quite ill.

The directors of the bank held their monthly meeting Monday afternoon.

Chris Paulson shipped a car load of stock Tuesday morning.

A car load of potatoes was sent through the potato house the same day.  The price of this commodity does not seem to raise very much, in fact it is lower than it has been part of this season.  It looks as if we cannot expect to see the $ mark this year.  The government report shows  a crop of medium size, a good deal larger than two years ago and quite a little less than two year ago, and quite a little less than last year’s.

The new school house for the new school district No. 8 is to be an up-to-date building.  The work on same is done in first class shape.  It will soon be opened to the education purpose, which it is built for.
