Harold L. Francis, 88, Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, died on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the Marshfield Care Center. Funeral serices were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Rev. Jean Irgewere officiated. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #175 of Loyal.

Harold Francis was born on Aug. 15, 1923, in Neillsville, to Edward and Elizabeth (nee King) Francis. He attended Neillsville area schools barbering school in Milwaukee. He married Lorraine M. Lezotte on Dec. 9, 1943, in Black River Falls. He served in the United States Army during World War 11, and after his honorable discharge, he returned to Loyal where he operated his barber shop for more than 52 years. After his retirement, they moved to Marshfield and had lived there since. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. While barbering, his pals would come into the shop daily and talk about fishing and many other topics. He was respected in the community and loved by many. He had a special love for his wife, Lorraine, children and grandchildren. Dad will be missed by his wife and family, but we know someday we will all be united-what a reunion.
