Sheryl Lynn Szygiel of Bensenville, Ill, is spending three weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Benny Pawlak of Thorp. Recent weekend guests at the Plansky home were Dick Plansky, Jr., of St. Paul, Minn., And Bonnie Zink of La Crosse.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sawczuk and children of St. Paul, Minn., spent a weekend at the Joseph Benzschawel home in Thorp.

 

Miss Doris Benzschawel of Thorp was the honor guest recently at a prenuptial shower.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Kokaly and daughter have returned to Thorp from a vacation trip to Albuquerque, N. M., where they were guests of their daughter, Mrs. Tom Morin and her family. They also visited relatives in Riverside, Cal., and Omaha, Nebr.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Shay and Mr. and Mrs. James Shay of Chicago, Ill., have been spending their vacation at the Frank Gostomski home in Thorp.

 

Miss Emily Quelle has returned to Thorp from Milwaukee, where she spent a week with her sister, Mrs. Martin Duckoven.

 

Mrs. Val Wyczawski of Thorp recently spent a week at the John Busse home in River Grove, Ill.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Zukowski and son of Deerfield, Ill., are spending their vacation with Mrs. Estelle Zukowski of Thorp.


Mrs. Mae Pawlak and Mrs. Helen Phippips have returned to Franklin Park, Ill., after spending a week at the Stanley Herman home in Thorp.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Misfeldt of Thorp will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday.

 

A family reunion was held recently at the Pat Soderberg home in Thorp.

 

Mrs. Ethel Boardman will be hostess this (Thursday) afternoon to the Christian Women’s group of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp.

 

Chief M/Sgt. Casimer Jarocki, a former Thorp resident, has returned from a three and one-half year tour of duty with the air force in Ramstein, Germany.  He was a radar checker between India and England, and North Africa and England. His wife and five children have been living in Germany with him.  Mr. Jarocki entered the air force in 1946 and is planning to retire next year.

 

Medical Record Specialist Judy Jacque has returned to Ft. Hood, Tex., after spending a two week vacation with her mother, Mrs. Eunice Jacque, in Thorp.

 

The foreign exchange student in Rice Lake visited one day recently with the Alex Badzinski family in Thorp. The following day this student and Esther Jaurez, foreign exchange student in Thorp, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Alex Badzinski and family of Thorp, drove to Appleton, from where the two students left on a tour of the United States before returning to their homelands.

 

Mr. and Mrs. David Smith and three daughters of Phoenix, Ariz., are guests at their parental homes in Stanley and Thorp.

 

Sgt. and Mrs. Paul McCatharn and two children of Eau Gallie, Fla., spent their vacation at the Milton Kodl farm near Thorp. They went from there to Lebanon, N. J., to visit Mr. and Mrs. Percy McCatharn.

 

Thomas Burdett of Anaheim, Cal., arrived in Owen recently for a three-week visit.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bartholomew of Owen spent a weekend with friends in Grand Forks, N. D.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Orland Woodbeck of Owen, and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Prior of California, drove recently to Flint, Mich., on a sightseeing trip.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bingham, who have been visiting relatives in the Owen area, spent a few days at Wisconsin Dells before returning to their home in Charlotte, S. C.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Slone and their grandfather, Mr. Dickenson, of Lucerne, Cal., are making a visit of several weeks at the Levi Dickenson home in Owen. 

 

Dr. and Mrs. Robert Miller and daughter have been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Armand Miller of Withee.  Dr. Miller, who has been interning in Vermont, is now enroute to Pine Ridge, S. D., where he will work with the public health service.

 

Mrs. William Fischer and two daughters of Minneapolis, Minn., spent a weekend in Withee with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Frost.  Mrs. Fischer was here to attend the 25th reunion of her graduating class.

 

Mrs. Gerda Vaitonis has retuned to Chicago, Ill., after spending a week with her sisters, Mrs. Paul Tomlich and Mrs. James Peterson, and families, in Withee.
