Thayer, Kathryn (20 APR 1864 - JAN 1941)

MRS. WILLIAM THAYER

While Mrs. Thayer has not been ill but a few months, yet it was known by her neighbors and friends that she could not recover and the end came at 10:20 Monday night, putting an end to a very happy busy life of one of our pioneer women.  Hers has been a busy life, using much of her time in caring for others.  Mrs. Thayer was born Kathryn Patrick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Patrick at Osceola, Fond du Lac county on April 20, 1864.  In her early girlhood she came to Spencer where she was employed and there met George Burnett to whom she was first married on Jan. 10, 1886, at Campbellsport.  Shortly after they came back to this portion of the state and purchased a farm near Spencer which they later sold and purchased the farm in the town of Brighton where they lived many years.  Some years ago she united with the Christ Disciple church.  No children were born to this union though they brought up three children, one dying in her childhood and the others, Mrs. John Korntved of Unity and Aloysius Burnett whose present address is unknown.

On Feb. 20, 1936, George Burnett passed away and on Sept. 1, 1936, she was united in marriage with William Thayer who with her elder sister, Mrs. Agnes Thayer, who was making her home with them, survive her.

The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church, the Rev. J. A. Olson officiating.  Interment at the Colby cemetery.
