Gunia, Virginia Lee (? Aug 1959)

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal was the setting for the exchange of marriage vows between Miss Virginia Lee Gunia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gunia, Neillsville Route 1 and Milan D. Matanic Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Milan Matanic Sr. of Loyal.  Father N. King officiated at the 10:30 a.m. ceremony.

As Miss Gunia approached the altar on the arm of her father, she wore a silk Bom Bozine gown with a pehl coat of Chantilly lace, the Redingote skirt had lace appliqué throughout.  The Sabrina neckline of lace was trimmed with sequins and pearls.  Her full silk illusion veil fell from a Spanish cornet headpiece.  She carried a white prayer book with a bouquet of blue stephanotis centered with a white orchid.  Mrs. Joe Voight of Wausau, sister of the groom, was maid of honor.

Edward Stasiak, Chicago, Ill., cousin of the bride, and Thomas Bertz of St. Paul, Minn., were groomsmen.  Charlene Sandel of Thorp, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

The breakfast, reception and dance was held in Bruno’s Supper Club at Marshfield with Ronnie Hirsch orchestra playing for the dance.  The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School, and a two year elementary teacher’s course from the Eau Claire State Teachers College.  She taught in Dells Dam School last year.  The groom is also a graduate of the Loyal High School and DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago.  He is employed by the A C Spark Plug G.M.C. in England where they will make their home for a while.  The will leave by plane from Chicago Thursday for England.
