Greenwood (26 August 1965)

 

Capt. And Mrs. Carl Ackermann and sons, Richard and James, left Tuesday to return to Kansas City, Mo.  Mrs. Ackermann and sons had spent the summer months with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Drew and other relatives and friends.

 

Miss Donna Elmhorst of La Crosse spent two weeks at the home of Mrs. Mary Klune.

 

Teachers of the Vacation Bible School held in Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood through Aug. 20 were the pastor, Rev. Carl Booher, Mrs. John Zimmer, Mrs. Wayne Voss, Miss Annette Booher, Miss Marie Clintsman and Miss Linda Craig.  Mrs. Booher was the music teacher, Miss Connie Schultz, secretary; and Mrs. Robert Clintsman was in charge of arts and crafts. The students presented a program at the Sunday morning worship service. August 22.

 

Members of the Willard 4-H club held an exhibit of their accomplishments on the lawn Sunday at the West Side Hall at the auction bazaar and dinner served by the Council of Catholic Women of Holy Family Church.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Val Jeras and Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Anderson and children, Kris and Kan, arrived to spend two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. John Verschay, parents of Mrs. Jeras, and with other relatives here and in Willard.

 

Raymond Klune has returned to La Crosse, where he is employed, after spending a month with his mother, Mrs. Mary Klune, and other relatives.  Other recent visitors at the Klune home were Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bradmiller of Dyre, Ind., and Robert Workman and son Bob, of Lafayette, Ind., who spent a week at the Klune home.

 

The consistory of Zion United Church held its monthly meeting Tuesday at the Gilbert Meyer home.

 

Mrs. Hugh Severson accompanied Mrs. Leida Kurtzheim of Milwaukee and Mrs. Ernest Molle of Unity to Loyal Thursday where they helped their niece, Mrs. Garth Luchterhand to celebrate her birthday.

 

Roy Moffett, who was an official tester here employed by the John Wuethrich Creamery Company, his wife, and their son, Ronald, spent Saturday at the home of Mrs. Vera Wuethrich. They were enroute to Baraboo after vacationing in Alaska since July 1.

 

Mrs. Sam Ortwig and infant daughter, Rebecca, were dismissed Monday from Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bunson of Phoenix, Ariz., left Friday after spending several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Richardson.

 

Mrs. Grant Koch and daughter, Lucille, of La Crosse, spent the weekend at the Norbert Friske home.  Mrs. Koch is the former Lucille Wellen of Greenwood.

 

Recent visitors at the Glen Drew home were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Nelson and daughter, Twilla, of Rochelle, Ill.

 

Sunday guests of Mrs. Jake Speich were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Speich and children, Caroline and Jacob of Osseo.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller were dinner guests Sunday at the Ingwald Ondal home in Stanley.
