College Notes (14 March 2012)


Samantha Weyer of Loyal has been named an American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) Collegiate Scholar.  She is majoring in horticulture at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.


The ASHS award honors juniors and seniors majoring in horticulture for their academic achievement. Students must be in the top 15 percent of their class based on academic standing and are selected based on their scholarship achievements, leadership abilities and service to their programs.


Cassandra Harder of Neillsville a student in the physical therapist assistant program at Western Technical College was named to the President’s list of High Distinction for the fall 2011 semester.  Students on this list must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and carry 12 or more credits in an associate’s degree or technical diploma program.
