Northern Clark County (11 November 1965)


William Biddle, who had been visiting relatives in Thorp, left November 2 for his home in Portland, Ore.  He was taken to Eau Claire by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herman and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Biddle of Thorp.


Mrs. Mabel Grooms of Santa Cruz, Cal., spent a week recently visiting at the Clarence Karnopp home in Thorp.


Mrs. Henry Broeren, who spent several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Cook of Thorp, has returned to Tishelwa, Ill.


Dr. and Mrs. R. T. Pier of Chicago, Ill., spent a weekend at the Dr. R. H. Stuesser home in Thorp.


Mrs. Arthur Soderberg has returned to Thorp after spending a week in Rockford, Ill., with the Gerald Soderberg family.


Howard Sugden of Owen has left to spend the winter with his son, Walter and family in Longwood, Fla.


David Mayo of Owen left recently for San Francisco, Cal., where he plans to spend the winter with relatives.


W. K. Doonan has returned to Owen following a visit of several days with Dr. and Mrs. Ed Nelson in St. Paul, Minn.


Mr. and Mrs. Willard Patten, their daughter, Mrs. James Ruggles, and Mr. and Mrs. George Spaeth and family, all of Owen, spent a weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hodnett and family in Minneapolis, Minn.


Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Auberg of Withee honored their son, Lanney, at a farewell party recently.  Lanney left Sunday for air force service. 


Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Lindjer and family of Manawa were recent Sunday guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lindjer, Sr., in Withee.


Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lang have returned to Dubuque, Ia., following a visit at the Otto and Edward Engel homes. They also visited her mother, Mrs. John Engel, in Withee.


Dr. and Mrs. Robert Miller and daughter of Pine Ridge, S. D., have returned home after spending a two-week vacation in Withee with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Armand Miller. 


Mrs. Christ Frost has returned to Withee from Minneapolis, Minn., where she spent two weeks visiting their son, Christian Frost and family, and her daughter, Mrs. Earl Mehus and family.


Mrs. Elba Neff of the Town of Longwood observed her 95th birthday October 28.  Joining her for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Neff of Eagle River, and another son, Chester, who makes his home with his mother. Several relatives and neighbors called in the afternoon at the Neff home.


Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Wetterau of Dorchester recently attended a cheesemakers convention in Eau Claire.


Mrs. Anna Sauter has returned to Dorchester after spending three weeks visiting relatives in Kimberly, Kaukauna and Appleton.


Mrs. A. L. Schemmer of Colby has returned home from DePere, where she spent a week attending a flower show.


Mr. and Mrs. Roland Roth and daughter of Abbotsford were in Oshkosh recently, where they attended funeral services for Edwin Dietze.


Mrs. C. T. Dolan of Abbotsford spent several days recently in a Marshfield hospital undergoing tests and treatment.


The Rev. Arthur Rasch was installed as pastor of St. Luke’s and St. Paul’s churches in Green Grove, Sunday evening.
