Chili (3 November 1911)

The sudden change in the weather makes it possible that some of the potatoes are liable to stay in the ground for next year to save planting. There are quite a few acres of potatoes yet that need digging badly.

Geo. Verkuylen bought the Art Garvin place from Thode Harriman.  They are going to move in as soon as W. Kretschmer gets his hay pressed and out of the way.

John Hefty is going to have his shop closed Sundays from 10 o’clock in the morning on.  He likes to have a little time for himself Sundays.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas Lindow are the happy parents of a baby girl and Mr. and Mrs. Toni Schuster were made glad over the advent of a boy. All are doing well.

H. Degener shipped a few cars of potatoes lately, but will have to quit most likely on account of the cold weather.

The Halloween night went off rather quiet, though the teacher had three wagons on the school grounds and Louis Reichert had his wheel borrow raised to the top of a telephone pole, and other little things like that.  A. Hoganson was thinking strong of going out.
