Kowalski, Theresa (2 JUL 1960)

Miss Theresa Kowalski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kowalski, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Mr. James Atkielski, son of Mr. and Mrs. V.W. Atkielski of Milwaukee, on Saturday, July 2nd, 1960, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp.  The Rev. Frances Disher officiated at the ten o’clock ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white nylon tulle and Chantilly lace over taffeta styled with long sleeves and a Sabrina neckline accented with sequins and pearls.  The full skirt was detailed with an apron effect of lace at the waist line and a wide insert of matching lace above the hemline.  Her French illusion fingertip veil was caught to a crystal crown.  She carried a bouquet of deep pink carnations and stephanotis.

Miss Judith Atkielski, sister of the groom, was maid of honor.  She was attired in a waltz length dress of pink silk organza over taffeta with deep pink cummerbund, which came to a bow in back with matching drape to the hemline.  She carried a bouquet of pink carnations.  Miss Rose Tomkowiak, cousin of the bride, and Miss Elaine Gall, friend of the bride, were bridesmaids.  Their dresses were of green silk organza over taffeta, identical in style to the maid of honor’s.  They carried bouquets of light green carnations.

Attending the groom were Mr. Ronald Atkielski, brother of the groom, and Mrs. Marvin Michalski, cousin of the bride.

The wedding day breakfast and reception were held at the St. Hedwig’s Hall.  Music was by the Emil Kodl Orchestra.  Hostesses were Mrs. Thomas Chodera and Mrs. Ed Zaborowski.

The bride is a 1956 graduate of Thorp High School and is employed at American Motors in Milwaukee.  The groom attended Notre Dame High School and is employed as an interior decorator.

After a short trip the couple will make their home in Milwaukee.

Out of town guests were from Chicago, Milwaukee, Waukegan, St. Paul, Stanley, Marshfield and Lublin.
