Raycher, Lorena C. (9 JUL 1960)

Miss Lorena C. Raycher became the bride of Robert W. Benzschawel on Saturday, July 9, 1960 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Wilson.  Rev. Francis Knopp performed the ten a.m. Nuptial High Mass.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Raycher, Boyd, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Benzschawel, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a chapel length gown of embroidered nylon sheer over net and satin.  The scalloped neckline detailed the fitted Basque with long sleeves and her embroidered bouffant skirt was over tiered net and stain.  A petite Swedish crown held her imported silk illusion veil.  Her flowers consisted of red roses and white carnations.

Miss Darlene Meyer was her cousin’s maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Suzanne Benzschawel, sister of the groom, Joyce Moeller, cousin of the bride, and Patricia Lamberty, friend of the bride.  Their floor length gowns were of blue organza over taffeta styled with scooped necklines and short sleeves.  They carried bouquets of blue and white carnations and each wore pearl earrings and necklaces, gifts of the bride.

Vickie Raycher, the bride’s niece, was flower girl.  Her floor length gown of silk over taffeta was styled similar to the bride’s.

Ronald Benzschawel was his brother’s best man.  Ushers were James Raycher, brother of the bride, Simon Koepl, cousin of the bride, Eugene Meyer, cousin of the bride, and Jerry Micke, cousin of the groom.

Blue and white streamers and white bells decorated the church hall where a dinner and reception for 300 guests were held.

The bride’s mother attended her daughters’ wedding wearing a light blue dress with white accessories and each had a corsage of white carnations.

The bride is a graduate of Stanley High School and the groom is a graduate of Thorp High School.  The groom is employed as a Northwest Airlines Transportation Agent for the Midwest Airport in Chicago.  After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin the couple will live at 5221 S. Park Side, Chicago.
