Strangfeld, Josephine Lorene (4 September 1922 - 9 April 2012)

 

Josephine L. Strangfeld, 89, of Neillsville died Monday, April 9, 2012, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Josephine Lorene (Morse) Strangfeld was born Sept. 4, 1922, in Christie, the daughter of Alonzo and Anna (Heintz) Morse. After she completed her education she was united in marriage Sept. 14, 1938, to William "Bill" Strangfeld. Together they farmed and raised their family.  Josephine loved taking care of her yard and growing flowers, cooking for her family, doing cross-stitch and going for long rides through the countryside.  She also loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Josephine was a member of the United Methodist Church in Neillsville.

 

She is survived by a son, Albert Allen Strangfeld; a daughter, Bonnie (Donnie) Elmhorst; and a daughter-in-law, Pat Strangfeld, of Neillsville.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Carey Hartwig, Karen Statz, Kay Waldhart, Wayne Elmhorst, Randy Elmhorst, Michael Strangfeld and Allen Strangfeld; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

 

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Donald Strangfeld; a grandson, Gary Elmhorst; and siblings, Cecelia West, Mabel Buchholtz, Gertrude Bannach, Viola Truax, Paul Morse, Ernest Morse and Lester Morse.

 

Funeral services for Josephine will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Providing music will be her grandson-in-law, Randy Waldhart, and Sharon and Douglas Bjerke. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday morning at the Gesche Funeral Home, interment will be in the North Pine Valley Cemetery.

 

Serving as casketbearers will be Wayne and Randy Elmhorst, Brian Hartwig, Charlie Statz, Randy Waldhart and Kelly Reinart.
