Szczech, Carol V. (25 JUN 1960)

Miss Carol V. Szczech became the bride of John F. Szymanski on June 25, 1960 in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at a 10:00 a.m. double ring ceremony with Rev. Francis Disher officiating.

Parents of the bride and groom are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Szczech, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and Mr. and Mrs. Felix J. Szymanski.

The bride, coming before the altar with her father, was beautifully attired in a gown of white silk organza over white taffeta, designed in a princess style with long tapered sleeves featuring a sweetheart neckline emphasized by the three dimension Swiss organdy rose motifs delicately accented with sequins and seed pearls.  The rose motifs were interspersed on the full skirt.  Her long cathedral train of white silk organza over bridal pink taffeta was pleated at back and waist and held in place with 3 white organza roses with leaves.  Her Aurora Borealis tiara held her fingertip veil.  She carried a bouquet of white roses and lily of the valley centered with two orchids.

Miss Mary Ann Szczech, Thorp, was her sister’s maid of honor and wore a street length dress of white nylon with pink rose velveray spray over white taffeta.  It was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and short sleeves on a molded bodice with a pleated pink taffeta back panel held in place at back waist with pink taffeta rose.  She wore a matching hat with pink taffeta rose buds nestled in.  Miss Mary Ann Szymanski, the grooms cousin, was the flower girl.  Her dress was designed similar to the bride’s in a floor length style in a white chiffon over light pink taffeta.  She carried a basket of pink rosebuds and ivy leaves.  George Konieczny, the bride’s nephew of Waukesha, was ring bearer.

The groom’s attendants were Ted Pietrzak of Cudahy, best man, and Leonard Gutowski of Stanley, groomsman.

The bride’s mother was attired in blue silk organza over taffeta dress for her daughter’s wedding, wearing white accessories.  The groom’s mother wore an orchid chiffon over taffeta dress and she also wore white accessories.  They wore baby orchid corsages.

Mrs. George Konieczny of Waukesha designed and sewed her sister’s wedding dress and the bride fashioned the dresses worn by the bridesmaids and flower girl.

The bride’s sister, Mrs. Frank Kotecki, and the bride sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank Szczech, cut the lovely wedding cake designed in the shape of a cross, decorated on top with a miniature altar and bride party.

Mrs. Stanley Szymanski of Chicago, Godmother of the bride, was hostess for her nieces wedding to a dinner served to wedding guests following the church ceremony and a reception at 6 o’clock at St. Hedwig’s.  A dance was held int eh evening and music was by Earl Kodl and his band.
