Rev. V.A. Ganz officiated at funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church for Alfred Oestreich, 76, of Spencer. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery. Mr. Oestreich died of a heart attack at his home Thursday morning, March 8, 1962. The body had laid in state at the Myre Funeral Home until noon Saturday, when it was taken to the church.

Pallbearers were Adolph Weyhmuller, Frank McVean, John Habhegger, Phillip Capelle, Carl Worchel and Oscar Lindekugel.

Mrs. Verland Dux and Mrs. Erwin Dux sang, “He Leadeth Me” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” They were accompanied on the organ by Jean Noeldner.

Mr. Oestreich was born March 30, 1885 in the town of Sherman (Clark Co., Wis.). He married the former Alvina Lucht on Sept. 28, 1911 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. They farmed in the town of Sherman until seven years ago when he retired and made his home in Spencer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and at one time served on the Taft School Board in the Town of Sherman.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Elmer and Raymond, Loyal; a daughter, Mrs. Herman (Mildred) Stange, Neenah; six grandchildren; five brothers, Frank and Lothar Oestreich, Loyal; Walter Oestreich, Park Falls, and Dennis and Harry Oestreich, Wis. Rapids, and four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Lucht, Loyal; Mrs. Evelyn Vogel, Valley City, N.D.; Mrs. Edna Wood, Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Jense (Lorena) Yde, Roy, Mont.

A sister preceded him in death.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stange and family of Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Oestreich of Park Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Oestreich of Wis. Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Zuehlke of Oshkosh; and many nieces, nephews and friends from Stratford, Medford, Wausau, Bruce, Marshfield, Athens, Joliet, Ill. and the surrounding area.
