Clara Ampe, 88, Loyal, died on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 13, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Rev. Steven Brice officiated. Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Anton Langreck, Roydean Houpt, Jeremy Ampe, Adam Susa, Sean Brown, and Kenneth Ampe.

Clara Aumann was born on March 28, 1924, in Neillsville, the daughter of Henry Sr. and Agnes (nee Langreck) Aumann. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Neillsville area, graduating from Neillsville High School. After completing high school, Clara helped on the farm and worked at Roddis Manufacturing in Marshfield. She married Paul Ampe on Feb. 17, 1946, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Neillsville. They lived in Loyal until 1953 and then moved to Greenwood, returning to Loyal in 1965. Her husband, Paul, died on Oct. 1, 1978. Clara continued to live in Loyal until the time of her death. She was a devoted member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, crocheting, sewing and cooking.

She is survived by her children, Paul Jr. (Debra) Ampe, Union Grove, Ron (Jane) Ampe, Casper, Wyo., Marlene (George) KIppenhan, Marshfield, and Karen (Jim) Brown, Thorton, Colo; 14 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Clarence (Doris) Aumann, Spencer, Irban (Leona) Aumann, Marshfield, Henry Jr. (Lois) Aumann, Loyal, Caroline Miller, Loyal, and Doreen (Pat) Mrotek, Cadott; a sister-in-law, Rose Aumann, Butler; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Sr.; one son, Arlyn, in 2004; two brothers, Louis Aumann and Leon Aumann in infancy; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Art Petkovek.

Her family asks that memorials be given to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
