Carlisle, Susan E. (5 January 1956 - 28 October 2012)

Susan E. Carlisle, 56, of Granton died peacefully Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Susan was born in Minneapolis Jan. 5, 1956, to Leslie and Phyllis (Christopherson) Melquist. She received an associate degree in nursing and was employed in Spooner for a short period of time before moving to Granton. She was a registered nurse at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years. She retired as a case management with Security Health of Marshfield. She enjoyed her animals at home including horses, mules, cats and her dog “Ted.”

She is survived by her significant other Charles E. Smith of Merrillan; two children, Lisa (Eddie) Porter of Marianna, FL, and Gregory Carlisle of Granton; her mother, Phyllis Melquist of Anoka, MN; and her great- grandchildren, Justin, Cameron and Caden and one expected soon. She is further survived by her siblings, John (Dorothy) Melquist of Rockford, IL, Julie (Doug) Groettum of Eagan, MN, and Jean (Larry) Anderson of Ramsey, MN.

She was preceded in death by her father and her grandson Cael Porter.

Family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield from 6 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be designated to the Clark County Humane Society.
