MRS. LARS DYRE (1844-1903)
Julia Anna Johnson was born in Norway Dec. 31, 1844 and about thirty-six years ago was married to Lars Dyre. To this union were born nine children, three of whom have passed to the beyond. Those living are A. B., John, Guner P., Mrs. Anna Hanson, Alfred and Helga, the last two named being twins. With the exception of the daughter, Mrs. Hanson, who lives at Colfax, the children all live near Greenwood, and all including Mr. Hanson were present at the funeral.
About six years ago Mr. and Mrs. Dyre came, to this country, having been preceded for some time by four of the children. During that time they have made their home with the children, sometimes here and sometimes at Colfax. Since Guner bought the Ole Peterson farm two or three years ago the parents have lived with him. It was here that Mrs. Dyre was laid up a couple of years ago with the broken limb and where she suffered the stroke of paralysis which only five days after caused her death as stated in last week's Gleaner. The end came apparently unconsciously to the patient.
The funeral occurred Thursday afternoon at one o'clock from the home and was conducted by Rev. W. T. Hendren. There was a large attendance of sympathizing neighbors and friends who share with the relatives in their bereavement. Interment took place in the Greenwood cemetery.
