OBITUARY OF MRS. A. A. HALE

Mrs. A. A. Hale, formerly Elizabeth Marion Brown, was born in Schenectady, N.Y., April 23, 1850, came to Lime Ridge when sixteen years of age and grew to womanhood in that vicinity, finishing her education with one of the first classes of Baraboo, Wis. After teaching several terms of school, she was united in marriage to Alonzo A. Hale, also of Lime Ridge.

To this union five children were born, namely: Mrs. L. E. Grimmes of Hillsboro, Wis., Mrs. Wm. Marden of Greenwood, Wis., Henry A. Hale of Greenwood, Wis., and Mrs. H. A. Wood of Sparta, Wis., and one son who died in infancy, also fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She resided in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., from 1904-1912, when they moved to a farm near Black River Falls, where they resided until three years ago, when she became an invalid. She then divided her time with her two daughters, first with Mrs. W.W. Marden and the past 18 months with Mrs. L. E. Grimmes, where she quietly passed away Jan. 4, 1929. Her husband preceded her in death June 28, 1928.

All the family were present at the funeral with one exception, the son being unable to attend.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of her daughter, Jan. 88 and the body was laid to rest in the Hillsboro cemetery, Rev. Raymond Warren officiating.
