Alexander Hargot (1909 - 2000)


Alexander "Alex" Felix Hargot, 90, Withee, Clark County, WI died Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the Memorial Nursing Home in Medford.


Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 12 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin, with Rev. Phillip Juza officiating. Burial took place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Pallbearers were Troy Hargot, Chris Hargot, Richard Martin, Travis Hargot, Gary Gajda, and Gary Lavin.


Maurina Funeral Home of Owen assisted the family with arrangements.


Alexander Hargot was born on December 8, 1909 at the Town of Roosevelt to the late Mike and Sophie Hargot.


His marriage to Frances Mamayek, who survives, took place on June 25, 1935 at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Holway until retiring in 1973.


He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and the National Farmers Organization. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing pool.


In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Roger (Pat) Hargot, Withee four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and one step-brother.
