Vernice Theresa Herman

 

Vernice Theresa Herman, 83, Sun Prairie, WI, died Tuesday May 4, 1999 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, WI.


She was born May 29, 1915 at Aniwa, WI to George and Mary (Stroka) Wood. She grew up in the Donald area and married Anton Peanuts Herman on September 4, 1933 at SS Peter and Paul Church in Gilman, WI. In 1941 they moved to Milwaukee, WI where they lived until 1971 when they retired and moved back to Gilman, WI. Her husband Peanuts died in 1983. Vernice moved to the Madison, WI area about a year and half ago.


Funeral services were held at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Friday, May 7, 1999, 11:30 a.m. with Father James Bartelme officiating. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Gilman Funeral Home. Rosary services were at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Grandsons served as pallbearers.


Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Beverly Bruneau of Cresteview, FL, Joan, Mrs. Robert (Tiny) Dunn of Milwaukee, WI four sisters: Tillie Wesenberg of Gilman, WI, Sally Kmiecik of Franklin, WI, Ethel (Edward) Lang of Mauston, WI, Pat (Emil) Samplawski of MT 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 son Roger, 3 brothers: Albert, Daniel, LaVerne Wood and 1 sister Kathleen Hopp.
