JACOB HUNTZICKER


At his home near Greenwood. June 7, 1888, Jacob HUNTZICKER, aged 53 years.


The deceased was born in Germany, and came to America and Clark county thirty years ago. Eighteen years ago he married Mary Jane MCMAHON, daughter of John MCMAHON, of Greenwood. He leaves a wife and five children.


Mr. HUNTZICKER was the owner of one of the finest farms in the county, and was a stockholder in the Neillsville Bank and was a partner of Hon. R. DEWHURST in the logging business.


By the death of Jacob HUNTZICKER Clark county has lost one of her best men. Not only will his near neighbors miss him, but the hundreds of acquaintances reaching to La Crosse, among whom the deceased had been a familiar figure since the early pioneer days.


The funeral services were held from the family residence, a large concourse of people being in attendance, some coming from La Crosse and Neillsville. There were seventy-five teams in the procession following the remains to the grave. The sermon was preached by Rev. W. T. Hendren of this city.
