LaFlex, Maynard (1935 - 1999)

 

Maynard Frank LaFlex, 64, Stanley, WI died 7:00 a.m. at his residence Saturday, October 2, 1999.


Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 1999 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Stanley with Rev. Robert Wilcken officiating. Acting pallbearers were: Norman Christianson, Dale Fredrickson, Roger Wagner, Rodney Jr., Ryan, and Michael LaFlex. Honorary pallbearers were: David Jr. and Robert LaFlex. Visitation was from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley.


Maynard was born May 30, 1935 to Frank and Adeline (Anton) LaFlex. He grew up in Thorp and attended the area schools. He was married to Sharon Maves on November 29, 1958 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Stanley, WI. Maynard joined the US Navy in 1954. During his naval career he served in the Vietnam Conflict. While in Vienam he received the commendation medal with combat distinguishing device. He returned to the United States and was honorably discharged in 1974. He and Sharon moved back to Stanley, WI and have lived there since. Maynard was a member of Richard Brown Post 2711 VFW and served on the Epiphany Lutheran Church Council.


Survivors include his wife, Sharon LaFlex of Stanley, WI two daughters: Diane, Mrs. John Pardi of Greenwood, WI, Sharri, Mrs. Rodney Vizer of Chippewa Falls, WI three sons: Maynard Jr. (Butch) of Stanley, WI, David (Kim) of Stanley, WI, Gary (Ruth) of Elmwood, WI 9 grandchildren: Michael and Robert Pardi, Rodney Jr., Ryan and Amber Vizer, David, Amanda, Mary and Thomas LaFlex two brothers: Earl (Omie) LaFlex of Jacksonville, FL, LeRoy LaFlex of Union Grove, AL four sisters: Phyllis, Mrs. Louie Wald of Chippewa Falls, WI, Wenonah, Mrs. Sidney Weis of Cheyenne, WY, Iva LaFlex of Stanley, WI, Patricia, Mrs. Wayne Madison of Gilman, WI one brother-in-law Malen (Butch) Teclaw of Thorp, WI and one sister-in-law Malen (Butch) Teclaw of Thorp, WI and one sister-in-law Felicia LaFlex of Thorp, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents: 1 brother Oliver LaFlex 1 sister Donna Teclaw and 1 infant sister.
