Laabs, George (1888 - 1903)

Mrs. M. M. Marvin, Mrs. Thos. McCalvy and Addie Laab were called to Black River Falls Saturday to attend the funeral of Miss Laab's brother, George Laabs, a lad of fifteen years who accidentally shot himself while handling a loaded shotgun. He had been out with his father after a load of wood, taking the gun along to shoot rabbits with. Returning he took hold of the muzzle of the gun to draw it toward him on the load and in doing so probably caught the hammer, which snapping back, discharged the load into the lad's breast just above the heart. Mrs. McCalvy returned home Monday. (remaining portion unreadable)
