AREA RESIDENT DIES AT AGE 84


GREENWOOD--Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church here for Mrs. John (Anna) Nielsen, 84, of Greenwood, Clark County, who died at 6:40 a.m. Thursday Aug. 26, 1971, at Memorial Home in Neillsville, where she had been residing for the past three years.


The Rev. David Wenger, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitations may be made at the Hill Funeral Home beginning today and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.


The former Anna Elizabeth Olsen was born Oct. 16, 1886 in Denmark, and was married there May 26, 1910, to John Nielsen, who preceded her in death May 13, 1959.


The couple made their home in Denmark for nine years after their marriage and in 1919 came to America and settled in Racine. On Dec. 2, 1939, they came to a farm 6 miles southwest of Greenwood, where Mrs. Nielsen had resided until entering Memorial Home.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the American Lutheran Church Women.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Isabella) Montey, Watertown four sons, Niels, West Allis Louis, Hazelhurst and Aage and Henry Nielsen, both of Greenwood 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
