MRS.SARAH EMMA TUTTLE OLSON (April 30,1884-June 10, 1968)


Mrs. Sarah Olson, 84, Colby, died at 1:15 a.m. Monday at Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, where she had been a resident for the past year.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, March Rapids. The Rev. Kent Schroeder will officiate, and burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call now at Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.


The former Sarah Tuttle was born April 20, 1894, in the Town of Brighton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Tuttle. On June 29, 1904, she was married to Fred Olson. The Olsons farmed west of Colby for 10 years, then operated a sawmill at Cherokee until 1960. Mr. Olson died in November 1947. Mrs. Olson was a member of Cherokee Woman's Club, and was active in Red Cross work.


Survivors include two sons, Byron, Colby, and Lawrence, Chippewa Falls four daughters, Mrs. Norbert Ven Rooy, Colby, Mrs. Herman Totzke, Stratford, Mrs. Winifred Strebe, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Ben Reil, Oshkosh a brother, Edwin Tuttle, Superior two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Olson, Neillsville, and Miss Martha Tuttle, Vallejoy, Calif 27 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren
