OBITUARY OF A. P. RAYMOND


Alanzo Pearis Raymond was born in Bristol, Vt., April 18, 1851. He was united in marriage to Alice Mott in 1877 and lived in New York until 1891 when he and his family moved to Illinois. In 1898 they came to Wisconsin residing in Greenwood for many years.


Mr. Raymond visited friends in Greenwood last week and left on Thursday on an auto trip to New York. He had reached Elkhart, Ind., when he was taken suddenly ill and died there June 13, 1930. The cause of his death being acute peritonitis along with complications due to old age.


Since the death of his wife in 1915, he has spent most of his time in Oregon. He came to Owen in 1928 where he made his home with his daughter.


He leaves four children to mourn his loss Walter S. of Portland, Oregon Clinton A. of Auburn, NY, Ward A. of Detroit, Mich., and Florence St. John of Owen, Wis. He also leaves seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.


Only one of the boys was able to be present at the last services for his father, along with his daughter and family of Owen.


The body was brought to Greenwood where funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal Church, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. D. S. Householder officiating. Interment in the Greenwood cemetery.
