JULIA SCHMIDTKE  (1918 - 2001)


Julia L. Schmidtke, 82, rural Greenwood, Clark County, died on Saturday, March 10, 2001, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville, where she had been a patient since March 4. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Monday March 26, at the Greenwood Legion Hall. The Rev. Mike Kennedy, Immanuel United Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will be in the Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery, Greenwood, at a later date.


Julia Scheel was born on Aug. 30, 1918, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scheel, in Granton. She was educated at the Romadka School, town of York. She married Paul Kippenhan on Aug. 24, 1954, at Greenwood. He died in 1978. She later married Alton Schmidtke on April 22, 1987, at Greenwood.


Survivors include her husband, Alton Schmidtke, Greenwood and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents her first husband, Paul Kippenhan two sisters, Marie and Edna and two brothers, Ray and Donald.
