Schweinler, Brigadier General Francis Frederick, Aug. 10, 1906 - Nov. 27, 1996.

 

A memorial service for Brigadier General Francis F. Schweinler, 90, who passed away Wednesday, November 27, was held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, November 30, 1996 at the Chapel in the Presbyterian Home, 3220 Lake Joanna Blvd., Arden Hills.

 

Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery. General Schweinler was born August 10, 1906 to Frederick and Lillian Schweinler in Neillsville, Clark County, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife Irene A. (Humke) Schweinler (a native of Greenwood, Clark County, Wisconsin). The couple was married on August 15, 1928.

 

Also surviving are three children, a son William T. Schweinler, and wife Bonita of Grantham, New Hampshire, and two daughters, Carmen Briscoe and husband Keith of Leawood, Kansas and Luann Woeltge and husband Terry of Shoreview, Minnesota. General Schweinler is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kristina Schweinler, South St. Paul Kurt Schweinler, Emporia, Kansas Kevin Schweinler, Littleton, Colorado Kimberly Gravenslund, Kenniwick, Washington Susan Tideman, Leawood, Kansas Ruth Woeltge, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and D.J. Woeltge of Shoreview. Survivors also include eight great-grandsons and one great granddaughter a brother, Dewayn Schweinler of Mauston, Wisconsin, and a sister, Ione Bruhn of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Presbyterian Homes of Minnesota. Arr. HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM NORTH CHAPEL, 482-7606.
