ALTAH THOMAS


Altah Thomas, 74, a former Greenwood, Clark County resident, now residing at the Thorp Care Center, passed away at 9:20 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9, 1977, at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.


Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Rinka Funeral Home. Miss Sara Knighton sang, accompanied by Mrs. Harold Brockhuas on the organ. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Altah Sischo was born to Arthur and Bessie Morse Sischo on Feb. 19, 1902., in the Christie area. She received her education at Christie and Greenwood Schools. She was married to Melvin Thomas on Aug. 2, 1920, in Greenwood, and they farmed in the Town of Eaton for 45 years.


Survivors include three sons, Frank of Greenwood, Ralph of Loyal, and Dale of Milwaukee two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Helen) Severson, Greenwood, and Mrs. Geneva Olson, Greenwood one brother, Leo Sischo of Neillsville two sisters, Mrs. Olive Hare, Greenwood, and Mrs. Michael (Ninah) Engel of Spencer 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
