She came to America in 1872 and resided at La Crosse for two years, and then settled on a farm near Whitehall. In 1918 she moved to Greenwood.

Grandma Wellen, as she was known to most of us was an ideal wife and mother and those of her family who are left to mourn her loss have every reason to bless her name and treasure her memory.

Short funeral services, conducted by Rev. M. K. Aaberg, were held at the home Friday morning. The body was then taken to Whitehall and laid to rest beside her husband who was buried there 23 years ago.
